How Daily mode differs from endless
Same starting board worldwide
Every player who opens the daily on June 6, 2026 sees the same two starting tiles in the same positions. That makes shared grids actually comparable — your friend’s 2048 grid faced the same opening yours did.
One play per day, per device
Daily mode locks the “New game” button so you can’t re-roll the opening. Your best score for today is saved to this browser; come back tomorrow for a fresh deterministic start.
Subsequent tile spawns stay random
Only the two starting tiles are deterministic. Tiles that spawn after each move are still random — the game stays interesting and you can’t memorize a 200-move script.
Want unlimited runs?
Play endless HexMerge — random starts, unlimited attempts, all-time best score tracked separately from your daily.
